As with all of us, my story begins with my family.

I am a generational hybrid – lucky enough to have been raised by both my blue-collar grandparents who took pride in their hard work and everything they accomplished as a result, and my parents who were driven to seek higher education and who sincerely believed they could make a difference in their community. My grandfather believed that there was no rest until the job was done and much to the chagrin of my own children, it is the same for our family now. He believed that there was no greater qualities for a person to possess than honesty and integrity and despite having only made it to the eighth grade, impressed upon all of us the importance of having an education.

There is no greater virtue than to help people

As children, I remember my sister and I being tormented by a big red rooster. I also remember the hatchet my grandfather placed in my hand to end that torment – he taught me to stand up for myself and for others.

My father taught me that there was no greater virtue than to help people. After he graduated from law school, he joined a large law firm in Puerto Rico and I went from being a farm boy to an island kid. While I spent my time earning extra money scraping barnacles off the sides of boats and spearfishing with my friends, my father toiled away in an Ivory Tower – conflicted and unhappy. He believed he could make the world a better place, but instead he found himself working for Big Law, representing mega-corporations – working for the Goliath instead of David.

After only a couple of years, we left the island and my father started his own law practice in rural Spokane, Washington. There he would dedicate himself to working for the ‘little guy’, representing members of our community against big business or an apathetic judicial system – a dedication that was never lost on me.

I was raised to believe everyone in our community matters

As I stood at a crossroads in college, faced with the decision of either becoming a marine scientist or a trial lawyer – I chose the latter. From my father I saw what it meant to be a voice and an advocate for those who need justice and in the 25 + years that have followed, I have learned to appreciate the trust I have earned from clients and juries as a result. Since retiring from the U.S Army Reserve JAGC after twenty-four years of service, I have committed myself to being a force for good in my community. Our law firm represents those who have suffered a serious injury or lost a loved one as a result of negligence as well as anyone who has been accused of a crime.

We are the voice for our community when others want us to be silent, an advocate for those who need one.

Every day we help people take back control of their lives.

I was born in San Francisco and moved to rural Nevada when I was 11. My parents opened a country mercantile, and later several other businesses, in which I worked. I now live in Hereford and enjoy running, swimming and hiking.

Since 1988 I have been practising law with the goal of helping people as best I can. I also served as a judge of the Cochise County Superior Court, which informed me that I preferred to work more closely with people than the court allows.

When you see a fork in the road take it.

I was born in southwestern Ohio near Cincinnati, to pious Christian parents. My father owned a residential construction business. I enlisted in the US Army at 18 and left Ohio, never to live there again. My life path took me from there to visit or live in many States in the southern and western US and in many countries of the world, for the most part in Europe and Asia

I have been a lawyer now for 40 years. I was influenced in part by an admired uncle who had a successful legal practice in southeastern Oregon. I left the Regular Army at mid-career to enter law school. I was recruited by the US Department of Justice right away and began my career as a Federal Immigration prosecutor in Miami, Florida. Eventually I was appointed by the Attorney General to be a Federal Immigration Judge in Arizona and served over 10 years in that position. While I was pursuing my Federal career, I continued my military career in the Reserve Components, almost entirely in the National Guard. I retired from the Army Reserve at the rank of Colonel. Thereafter, I worked for the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, as a prosecutor in Navaho County and as a Public Defense attorney in Cochise County for five years.

We are advocates for those who cannot advocate for themselves.

What I love most about our community of Sierra Vista, is that we come together when someone is in need – and this is what I love most about the work we do at the Russell’s Law Firm.

We help our clients, we help our neighbors, face some of the biggest challenges in their lives and I think there is no greater satisfaction than knowing we make a real difference.

I was born in Spokane, Washington. I grew up with two hard working parents, who taught their children, by example, how to work hard. I witnessed both of my parents work their way through college and then through grueling professional life, both earning top accolades in their career. As a child, it was hard to understand the dedication it takes to become a lawyer. However, as I have now experienced life myself, my parents’ efforts are not lost on me. I enjoy connecting with our clients, learning about the problems they have and determining how our services as a law firm can help solve their live’s issues.

I chose to become involved in law around 14 years ago because I learned our community members need a voice. They need someone to stand up for them and help solve their problems. Life is hard and everyone finds themselves at one point or another, needing representation. My goal as a legal professional is to create an environment the community knows will listen to their problems and provide realistic solutions for solving them.

Debra Hare

I was born in Brownsville, Texas; my grandparents were a big part in my life and they taught me to be kind and serve others, and because of that I like helping people in any way I can. Previously working in a hospital environment, I was recognized for going above and beyond for helping patients struggling with transportation, accommodating elderly patients schedules to meet their needs, verifying insurances for medications, and anything to make their visits stress-free. I have since brought my desire to help people to the Russell’s Law Firm.

Outside of work, I like to have dinner on a patio and enjoy the mountain view, hike, bird watch, and when I want some city life, go to Tucson to shop.

Christine Jones

I was born in Tucson, AZ and moved to Flint, Michigan when I was about 2 years old.

Working in the field of law was my “childhood dream job.” However, life took me in another direction for a very long time. I moved to Cochise County back in 2005 to take care of my grandmother, whom had cancer, and I just never left. I love the small-town vibes, the weather, and the views.

I’m a single mother of two beautiful energetic kids who are now out of their baby years, and we are all spreading our wings now that we are cage free. Other hobbies outside learning, I enjoy camping, fishing, listening to music, reading, video games, board/card games, and DIY projects at home. And I would love to learn to shoot a bow.
